This policy explains what personal information Trashawk collects, why, and the choices you have. Trashawk is based in Denver, Colorado, USA.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, password and role (admin, operator, client or collector).
- Client information: organization name, contact email, address, ZIP code, phone number and billing details, such as a PayPal email address.
- Operator information: contact details, territory and FAA certification details.
- Location of collectors: only while a collector turns on location sharing in the app. It is off by default, and we keep the latest position rather than a location history.
- Drone footage and detections: images and video of cleanup areas and the litter found in them, with its map position and type.
- Messages: what you send through our contact and operator forms.
- Technical information: sign-in session data, device and browser information, and logs needed to run and secure the Service.
2. Drone footage
Our drones record areas to find litter, not to watch people. Footage may still capture people, vehicles or property by chance. We:
- Use footage only to detect, review and collect litter, and to improve our litter detection models.
- Never use footage to identify, profile or track individuals.
- Use privacy tools on footage and limit access to the people who need it for a cleanup.
- Fly under FAA rules and local laws.
3. How we use information
- To provide the Service: map and detect litter, plan pickups and show results to clients.
- To manage accounts, roles, territories and billing.
- To answer your messages and operator applications.
- To keep the Service safe, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations.
- To improve the Service, including our litter detection models.
5. Location sharing
Collectors decide whether to share their location. While sharing is on, the app updates the collector's position about every 20 seconds. It can be seen by Trashawk staff and by the clients the collector is assigned to. Turn sharing off in the app at any time, or block location access in your device settings.
7. How long we keep information
We keep information while your account is active and as long as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. Then we delete or de-identify it.
8. Security
We use access controls by role, encrypted connections and other safeguards suited to the data we hold. No system is completely secure, so please tell us right away if you suspect a problem.
9. Your choices and rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to receive a copy of it. Residents of some US states, such as California and Colorado, may have additional rights, including opting out of certain processing. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
To make a request, email mflorez@trashawk.com. We may need to verify your identity first.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and accounts are for people 18 and older. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we make important changes, we will tell you in the Service. The date and version at the top of this page show which text applies. See also our Terms of Service.
